The accessibility statement is an important part of a website, to give guidance, signal commitment and under certain circumstances even a legal requirement.

Mandated by law under certain circumstances, but always good practice and a sign of inclusive thinking, accessibility statements (and placing them in a navigation scheme) may sometimes be considered merely a compliance chore rather than a subject of good design themselves. How to design a good accessibility statement?
A good accessibility statement is an artefact of user-centered design – easy to find, easy to comprehend, and putting user needs (not legal or organisational considerations) first.
