Another one for my collection of “museums” of historical forms of (digital) communication:

The home for over 600 current and obsolete physical media formats, covering audio, video, film and data storage. The Museum preserves the memory of those objects that held our memories, and every format listed in the Museum is represented by at least one example in the collection.

This is an ambitious project, and a great resource for both reflection and inspiration – technological development builds on its predecessors. Collections like this help to trace back where (sometimes just seemingly new) innovation stems from.

I'm Sebastian, Sociologist and Interaction Designer. This journal is mostly about bringing together social science and design for inclusive, privacy-focused, and sustainable "human-first" digital strategies. I also tend to a "digital garden" with carefully curated resources.

My occasionally sent email newsletter has all of the above, and there is of course also an RSS feed or my Mastodon/Fediverse profile.
