Homebrew Website Club Berlin #10 on 28 Jun 2017

Sebastian Greger

As we decided to establish a Homebrew Website Club here in the German capital, who would have thought we would make it to 10 meetups? (…and more in the pipeline!) It’s a little anniversary to be proud of for sure, and we have another interesting topic on the menu - along with some nice little stickers to mark the occasion.

This is also your exclusive opportunity to get hold of a pair of the brand new HWC Berlin stickers!

The 10th HWC Berlin meeting picks up where the first of our “Indieweb Starter Meetup Series” left us after the general intro session on June 14, this time looking at and experimenting with Webmentions - the technique that makes independent websites talk to each other. “Less presentations, more hands-on” is the goal this time, so drop by and join us! …no matter are you particularly curious about Webmentions or just generally interested in starting or working on your own homepage: we have you covered.

  • 18:30 Warm-up: Gathering the crowd, catching up, getting to know each other

  • 19:00 Webmentions intro: What are Webmentions? How can I get started?

  • After: Hands-on experimentation, if wished. Otherwise the usual show-and-tell and conversations, around anything “personal web”

Homebrew Website Club is a bi-weekly meetup of people passionate about or interested in creating, improving, building, designing their own website, in the same structure as the classic Homebrew Computer Club meetings.
